Radical Republicans
Radical republicans responded to Reconstruction by passing the Civil Rights Bill of 1866, First and Second Reconstruction Acts, Ku Klux Klan Act of 1871, Civil Rights Act to 1875, 13th, 14th, and 15th amendments, and tried to impeach President Andrew Johnson multiple times, but failed.
